May 2, 2008:
The consistent SWAINS NEWS added another victory to his scorecard, unleashing a flashy turn of foot late in the stretch of the 9th race a Lone Star Park, a one mile allowance over their firm turf course.

SWAINS NEWS pressed the pace into the stretch and took to the three path to make his bid. He uncorked a quick move nearing the sixteenth pole and he swept to the lead and to a two and one-half length victory.

The bay colt, who has never finished worse than third in his career, is a homebred racing for On Target Racing Stable LLC. Trained by Patrick Mouton, he is the second foal from the multiple stakes winning Repriced mare, Azireprice.

March 23, 2008:
AKINO RED STAR,
the 5-year-old son of SWAIN, finished second in the Tajima Stakes going 2,000 meters over the firm turf course at Hanshin Race Course.

Rating in third until late stretch, he came within a neck of catching the frontrunning leader.

AKINO RED STAR was bred by Skymarc Farm Inc. He was produced by the stakes winning Green Desert mare Absurde (FR). He races for A. Miyagawa and is trained by Yoshito Yahagi.

March 1, 2008:
SWAY
, the 4-year-old daughter of SWAIN, won for the second time this season over the Gulfstream Park turf course. Her latest victory came in teh 5th race, a $41,500 allowance over the course rated firm.

SWAY was away sharply and settled into a stalking position, keeping the leader honest until the final two furlongs. She challenged and gained the lead in the stretch and held the closers safe to win by one length.

A homebred racing for Lee Lewis, SWAY has won or placed in four of her six starts. Trained by Mark Hennig, she is out of the stakes winning, graded stakes-placed Affirmed mare, Deb's Honor.

February 15, 2008:
SWAINS NEWS
was favored by the Fair Grounds crowd to win the 7th race and the son of SWAIN did not disappoint, taking the one mile maiden special weight by nearly two lengths.

Moved off the turf and contested over the wet fast main track, the change in surface didn't bother SWAINS NEWS. Tracking off the pace until the final turn, he moved up on the outside, took control as the top of the stretch and he drew away after he switched leads to win as much the best.

Never out of the money in his four career starts, SWAINS NEWS is a homebred racing for On Target Racing Stable and he is trained by Patrick Mouton. He is the second foal from the multiple stakes winning Repriced mare, Azireprice.

February 2, 2008:
MAJESTIC SWAIN
put in a strong stretch run to break his maiden going six furlongs over the fast main track in the 10 race at Fair Grounds.

Stalking just behind the pair disputing the pace down the backstretch and around the turn, the son of SWAIN moved three wide coming off the turn and launched his bid. He took the lead passing the eighth pole and opened up to win by two and one-half lengths.

MAJESTIC SWAIN is a homebred racing for Alan Guillotte, Jr. and he is trained by Harry Hahn, III. He is out of the Alydar mare, Majestic Folly.

January 30, 2008:
It's five straight victories for MUTAMAASEK! The 6-year-old son of SWAIN, who has seen a seventeen pound increase in weight he must carrry since his winstreak began didn't let the extra impost stop him as he proved best in the 4:25 at Lingfiled going a mile and five-eighths over the all weather.

Carrying 132 pounds this out, he galloped along near the pace. He took over with a furlong to run and dug in when challenged close to the line. He held on gamely to win by a neck.

January 19, 2008:
MUTAMAASEK
made it four straight victories over the all weather at Lingfield with his victory today in the 1:55 going a mile and one-half.

The son of SWAIN was never far from the pacesetter and he began to make his winning bid two furlongs from home. He took the lead a furlong out and stayed on tenaciously to win by a half-length.

The bay gelding is owned and trained by Lady Herries. He is out of the Woodman mare, Tamgeed.

January 13, 2008:
MAKAAN
, our homebred son of SWAIN, made a sparkling U.S. debut to win the 3rd at Gulfstream Park, a one mile  $44,500 allowance over the the firm turf course.

MAKAAN kept the leaders in sight for the first six furlongs. He moved to the outside of the leaders at the top of the stretch and he began to close strongly. Getting first run, he was not alone closing in on the leaders. He took the lead passing the sixteenth pole and dug in to hold off the others and win by a head.

MAKAAN won the G3 Prix Thomas Byron at two. He is the first foal from the Group 1-placed Green Desert mare, Khassah (GB).

January 9, 2008:
SWAY
, the 4-year-old SWAIN filly who had placed in two of her three career starts, found the firm turf at Gulfstream Park to her liking and she responded with a vicotry in the 1st race, a maiden special weight going a mile and one-sixteenth.

SWAY pressed the pace from the outside from the break. She picked up the pace going into the far turn and the fight was one. She took over passing the eighth pole and gamely maintained her lead to the wire, winning by a half-length.

SWAY is a homebred racing for Lee Lewis and she is trained by Mark Hennig. A half-sister to graded stakes winner Primary Suspect, she is out of the stakes-winning Affirmed mare, Deb's Honor.

December 9, 2007:
MUTAMAASEK
, the son of SWAIN, won the 15:30 today at Lingfield going a mile and one-quarter by a half-length.

The bay gelding, who is owned and trained by Lady Herries, raced close to the pace for the opening mile. He mounted his challenge, took the lead inside the final furlong and went held his lead safe to the line.

MUTAMAASEK is out of the Woodman mare, Tamgeed.

November 11, 2007:
KONGO RYU-OH
, the 3-year-old son of SWAIN, tallied his third career win with a five length victory in the 11th race on a rainy day at Fukushima, a 1,200 meter handicap over the yielding turf course.

Settling in sixth out of sixteen in the early going, he made a very strong move to take over and draw away to an unchallenged victory.

KONGO RYU-OH races for Hisao Kanaoka and he is trained by Kenji Yamauchi, for whom he has earned $312,252. Bred by Runnymede Farm Inc. et al, he is out of the Green Dancer mare, Eyes of a Dove.

November 10, 2007:
VAINGLORY
, the 3-year-old son of SWAIN, gained his second victory and fifth top three finish in seven starts this season with his victory in the 8:55 at Wolverhampton going a mile and three-sixteenths.

VAINGLORY bided his time under jockey Kirsty Milczarik, who waited to ask him for his best with a little more than a furlong to go. He quickened up the inside, took the lead nearing the wire and held on strongly to win by a head.

VAINGLORY is races for DBX Bloodstock Ltd and he is trained by D. M. Simcock. Produced by the Maria's Mon mare, Infinite Spirit, he was bred by Darley.

October 21, 2007:
DANON ISAO
, the 2-year-old son of SWAIN, won his racing debut, a 2,000 meter (approx. ten furlongs) maiden race over the firm turf course in the 5th race at Kyoto.

DANON ISAO stalked the pace from third and closed strongly in the straight to win by a neck.

DANON ISAO races for Danox Co. Ltd. and he is trained by Hidetake Otonashi. Produced by the Meadowlake mare, Freudenau, he was bred by Jake Lantaff and Epona LLC.

SWAIN has three yearlings consigned to the 2007 Keeneland September Yearling Sale taking place September 10 through September 25 in Lexington.

September 16, 2007:
IDONEA,
the undefeated 2-year-old daughter of SWAIN, became a stakes winner in her second start with her victory in the listed Junioren-Preis going 1600 meters over the sof turf at Dusseldorf.

IDONEA broke her maiden on July 22 over the same course going 1400 meters. Stepping up to stakes company for this, her second start, she proved herself best by three and one-half lengths.

IDONEA races for Stall Mercurius and she is trained by Maro Hofer. Bred in Ontarion by Anderson Farms and John Storer, she is the first foal from the graded stakes-placed Alwasmi mare, Ivastar.

September 3, 2007:
MUQBIL
, the son of SWAIN made a strong rail run coming off the final turn and through the stretch to win the $75,000 Labor Day Stakes going one mile and seventy yards over the firm turf course at Mountaineer Park.

MUQBIL broke well and settled for a rail skimming trip staking the first flight. Full of run around the final turn, he charged through when a seam opened at the top of the stretch and he went on to win by two and one-half lengths.

MUQBIL is a consistent performer. He has won or placed in twenty of his twenty-nine career starts and he has earned $386,960. He races for Paul Cianci and Judy Reynolds and he is trained by Duane Knipe. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, he is out of the Diesis mare, Istiqlal, a half-sister to Group 1 winner, Bahri and Bahhare.

August 26, 2007:
GRAPHIC DESIGN
, the son of SWAIN, took the feature race of the day at Zonza on Corsica, a 2600 meter conditions by one length.

A sturdy competitor, GRAPHIC DESIGN has won or placed in thirty of his forty-nine career starts. His is owned and trained by Alexandre De Lanfranchi. Bred by Gainsborough Farm Inc., he is the first foal from the stakes producing Gone West mare, Cumulate.

August 24, 2007:
TOGETHERNESS
, the son of SWAIN, put in a strong stretch drive to break his maiden going six furlongs over the fast main track at River Downs,

TOGETHERNESS was away sharply, but he was taken four lengths off the early speed for the first half. He made a strong outside move and closed through the stretch to get up in time and win by a head.

TOGETHERNESS races for and is trained by Hulon Womack. Bred in Kentucky by Dreamfields Inc. and Don Brady, he is out of the stakes-winning Soviet Star mare, Spiritual Star.

July 27, 2007:
SILVER SUITOR (IRE)
, the 3-year-old son of SWAIN made a strong move in the final furlongs to break his maiden in the 6:05 at Newmarket going a mile and one-half over the good to firm going.

The Racing Post describe his performance this way. "There was plenty to admire about the progressive SILVER SUITOR's maiden success. He ran with promise on his last two outings over 10f, shaping as if this extra distance would suit as he was noted as being outpaced last time at Newmarket before staying on well.  [Today], once he got going, he proved an irresistible force, sweeping past Ancient Culture inside the final furlong. There is likely to be more to come and he should stay further, having been one of the first off the bridle and then staying on strongly."

SILVER SUITOR races for J. C. Smith and he is trained by David Elsworth. Bred in Ireland by the partnership of Tallyho Stud, James Delahooke and P. Twoomey, he is the second foal from the Lahib mare, Taatof (IRE).

July 22, 2007:
MIDNIGHT MUSE
took the lead halfway from home and tenaciously held on late to win the 2:20 at Redcar, an EBF Maiden Stakes going seven furlongs over the good to soft going.

Making his second start, the 2-year-old son of SWAIN pressed the pace and took over three furlongs from home. He set sail for the wire and when another runner came calling, he would not let him by. Fighting to the wire, he won by a head.

MIDNIGHT MUSE races for Clive Washburn and he is trained by T. Barron. Bred by Flaxman Holding Ltd, hie is out of the winning Fairy King mare, Witching Hour (FR).

July 6, 2007:
MARIOTTO
, the 3-year-old son of SWAIN, made nearly all the running along the stand's side to win the 4:25 at Sandown, a handicap going a mile and one-quarter over the good to soft going.

MARIOTTO went straight to the lead and was not threatened until two furlongs out. A battle ensued and he was headed inside the final furlong. He fought back gamely to retake the lead and win by a head.

MARIOTTO races for Godolphin and he is trained by Saeed Bin Suroor. He is the first foal fromt he winning Sadler's Wells mare, Shamaat Hayaaty (IRE).

June 21, 2007:
FORTUNATE ISLE
set sail early and dug in late to win the 4:00 at Ripon, a nine furlong handicap over a course rated slow.

The 5-year-old gelded son of SWAIN set off on a strong gallop and was not challenged until the late stages. He found more and held off the opposition to win by a half-length.

FORTUNATE ISLE races for The First Team and he is trained by R. Fahey. Produced by the Nureyev mare, Isla Del Rey, he was bred by Gainsborough Stud Management Ltd.

June 19, 2007:
AMY LOUISE (IRE)
, the daughter of SWAIN, found the good to soft going to her liking in the one mile, 4:40 at Thirsk.

AMY LOUISE kept the leaders in sight for the first six furlongs. She took up the chase to the wire with two other fillies and they put on a thrilling battle to the line. Proving best late, AMY LOUISE won by a half-length.

AMY LOUISE races for her breeder, P. D. Savill and she is trained by T. Barron. She was produced by the  winning Riverman mare, Mur Taasha.

June 14, 2007:
VAINGLORY
, the 3-year-old son of SWAIN, made his second start a winning one, taking the 3:25 at Yarmouth, a six furlong maiden over the soft course.

The performance was described by the Racing Post this way. "There was plenty to like about the winner VAINGLORY who had shown promise on his debut at Lingfield a fortnight earlier and stepped up on that effort in style. He was held up just off the pace but quickened up nicely to lead on the furlong pole and kept on well. He shouldn't be punished by the handicapper for this success and can stay at least 7f."

VAINGLORY is the first foal from the winning Maria's Mon mare, Infinite Spirit and he was bred by Darley. He races for DHB Bloodstock Ltd and is trained by D. Simcock.

June 9, 2007:
HABSHAN
, the 7-year-old son of SWAIN, scored by a length and one quarter victory in the 7:30 at Newbury, a handicap going one mile over the good to firm going.

Tracking the pace, he began his run three furlongs out and was challenging two furlongs from home. He took the lead and held off the other closers to win by a length and one-quarter.

HABSHAN races for Alan and Jill Smith and he is trained by C. F. Wall. Bred by Darley Stud Management, LLC, he is out of the Dancing Brave mare, Cambara.

May 30, 2007

FORTUNATE ISLE (02 c, o/o Isla Del Rey, by Nureyev) tracked the leader throughout much of this 1 1/4 mile handicap at Beverley in Great Britain. About two furlongs from home, he really started making headway into that lead and came wide to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths. The Racing Post said FORTUNATE ISLE "battled on gamely to keep his pursuers at bay. Slightly unlucky when second at Ripon last time, he looks the type to pay his way." The son of SWAIN (IRE) was bred in Kentucky by Gainsborough Stud Management Ltd. and races for The First Team. He is trained by R. A. Fahey.

The always tough group/graded winner MUQBIL (00 c, o/o Istiqlal, by Diesis (GB)), now a 7-year-old from SWAIN's very first crop, tallied his 11th stakes win or placing on the Memorial Day holiday. The old warrior took on a field of 10 in the $75,000 Memorial Day H. at Mountaineer Park. Going one mile on the turf, he broke alertly and pressured the pacesetter throughout. He dueled down the lane with a fresh rival and held well to secure second. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Stable, MUQBIL is both owned and trained by Dale Baird.

May 26, 2007

In just his second lifetime start (his first being a victory eight months ago at two), Supersonic Dave (04 c, o/o Vickey's Echo, by Clever Trick) added blacktype to his name by placing in the onerailway.com Fairway S. at Newmarket in Great Britain. The listed stakes was contested at 1 1/4 miles. SUPERSONIC DAVE began making his move about two furlongs from home, but couldn't quite catch the leader and crossed the wire a strong second. The son of SWAIN (IRE) is a full brother to Ruckus, a Louisina Downs winner just one week ago. Bred in Kentucky by A. B. Hancock III, SUPERSONIC DAVE is a $55,000 graduate of the 2005 Keeneland September yearling sale. He races for Roldvale Limited and is trained by B. J. Meehan.

May 19, 2007

Winning for the fifth time at Louisiana Downs, RUCKUS (02 c, o/o Vickey's Echo, by Clever Trick) closed from the clouds in an allowance. The 5-year-old, a son of SWAIN (IRE), trailed the field for the first six furlongs of the one mile turf allowance. He angled to the outside coming into the stretch and launched a long, stiff drive down the lane. He dove between foes late and got up in the last jump to win by a game nose. Bred in Kentucky by Arthur B. Hancock III, RUCKUS is a Perform Stables Inc. campaigner and is trained by John Taylor.

May 2, 2007

GRAVITATIONAL (04 c, o/o Galaxia, by Relaunch) handily took a maiden special weight at Atlantic City on the turf. Going 1 1/16 miles, the 3-year-old chestnut settled nicely at the back of the field in the early stages of the race. He commenced a rousing rally on the hedge to blow past the field late and win by a half-length. The son of Shadwell sire SWAIN (IRE) was bred in Kentucky by Arthur. A. Seeligson III and Ramona S. Bass and campaigns as a homebred for the partners. GRAVITATIONAL is trained by Michael W. Dickinson.

April 27, 2007

INNOCENT REBEL (01 c, o/o Cadeaux D'Amie, by Lyphard) broke his maiden in a novice hunters' chase over fences at Newton Abbot in Great Britain. Going two miles and 5 1/2 furlongs, the chestnut son of SWAIN set all the pace and won by a monster 33 lengths. The Racing Post said, "INNOCENT REBEL had shown enough when second in a similar affair at Exeter to merit plenty of consideration here. He was going nicely in front when left alone at the penultimate fence by the fall of Rye Brook and would have won in any case. As those two were well clear at the time the winning form has a solid look. INNOCENT REBEL was bred in Kentucky by Gainsborough Stud Management LLC and races in the colors of Mrs. Caroline Wilson. The half-brother to 1,000 Guineas-G1, Dubai Champion-G1, and Beverly D. Stakes-G1 winner Hatoof is trained by C. Heard.

April 10, 2007

Making his 3-year-old debut, SALAASA (04 c, o/o Jawla, by Wolfhound) broke his maiden impressively at Pontefract in Great Britain. The Racing Post said, "SALAASA, who had shown promise on both starts as a juvenile, [scored] a comfortable success. A touch keen early, he travelled well, quickened clear over a furlong and a half out and won eased down." The chestnut son of SWAIN (IRE) won the 1 1/4 mile maiden by 3 1/2 lengths. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, SALAASA races in the colors of Hamdan Al Maktoum. From the family of recent Eclipse winner Bernadini, he is trained by M. Johnston.

March 10, 2007

In just her third lifetime outing, SWAYTHE (01 f, o/o Caithness, by Roberto) won a listed stakes: the EBF/Doncaster Bloodstock Sales Mares Only Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race Final. The hurdle race was contested at 2 1/16 miles over heavy ground at Sandown in Great Britain. The daughter of SWAIN (IRE) settled in midpack for much of the stakes, then made a bid for the lead about three furlongs from home. She took command an eighth from the wire and increased her advantage to win by 3 1/2 lengths over the field of 14. Bred in Kentucky by Juddmonte Farms Inc., SWAYTHE races for The Syndicators and is trained by Paul R. Webber.

February 19, 2007

KRASIVI´S BOY (02 c, o/o Krasivi, by Nijinsky II) broke his maiden in a handicap at Lingfield in Great Britain. Going 1 1/2 miles over the all weather track, he was never far off the pace. More than a furlong from home, he took command only to be headed close to the wire. He battled back with great determination to win by three-quarters of a length over the field of 16. Bred in the U.S. by G. Oliver, KRASIVI´S BOY races for Elizabeth Kiernan. The former Keeneland September yearling graduate is trained by G. L. Moore.

February 17, 2007

AMENABLE (01 c, o/o Maplejinsky, by Nijinsky II) captured a 1 1/16 mile turf contest at Gulfstream Park. The 6-year-old from SWAIN's second crop tracked the pace and moved to collar the leader entering the stretch. He pulled clear to hold off that adversary and then turned back a closer as well. His final margin of victory was 1 1/4 lengths. Bred in Kentucky, AMENABLE races as a homebred for Jayeff B Stables. Trained by Alan E. Goldberg, the bay is a half-brother to multiple G1 winner Sky Beauty. His multiple G1-winning dam is a half-sister to Shadwell sire DAYJUR.

January 2, 2007

NISHINSO SLUGGER (JPN) (02 c, o/o Nadra (IRE), by Sadler's Wells) carried the distinction of the first winner of the new year for his sire with a nice victory at Fukuyama in Japan. The open weight-for-age contest was held at 1250 meters, or approximately 6 1/2 furlongs, over heavy going on the turf. The son of SWAIN outfinished a field of eight at the wire by a quarter length. A half-brother to U.S. stakes winner and G1-placed Master David, NISHINSO SLUGGER is a Japanese-bred.
