3YO Finishes Full of Run to Place in Oaklawn Maiden Event

Making his first start since the summer, Fortune Afar closed well to place in a six-furlong Maiden race at Oaklawn Park. Last in the early going, this 3-year-old son from the first crop of multiple graded stakes winner MUSTANFAR swung four wide into the stretch and finished strongly down the lane to place in only his third career start.

MOTHEEBA, a 2-year-old filly from the first crop of multiple graded stakes winner MUSTANFAR, came back just a week after her maiden win to place in the 1600m Criterium Aretuseo on the turf in Italy on December 3, only 2 1/2 lengths back of the winner. She was stretching out a bit after a 2 3/4-length win going 1100m on November 27. She is owned by Scuderia Bosco Unipersonale and trained by Sebastiano Cannavo’.

Freshman sire MUSTANFAR was represented by his second winner as MOTHEEBA won going 1100m on the turf in Italy. Making her third career start, the 2YO flly won by 2 3/4 lengths over a course rated good. She is owned by Scuderia Bosco Unipersonale and trained by Sebastiano Cannavo’.
MOTHEEBA is out of the Sahm mare, Ishraak.
1st Crop 2YO Places in Maiden Special Weight

In a one mile maiden special weight, two-year-old GROOM OF DOOM raced in mid-pack until making a strong drive going five wide in the upper stretch, closing ground to get up for the show. The race was over the main track at Mountaineer Park. Making his fourth start, GROOM OF DOOM previously had been on the board at Turfway Park and Mountaineer.
The Kentucky-bred gelding is out of the Honor Grades mare, Maid of Honor.
MUSTANFAR 2YO Posts Second Win in Allowance

2-year-old colt MUKAMER broke on top and led every step of the way to become a repeat winner in the first crop for his sire MUSTANFAR, a versatile Graded SW by Unbridled. In the 5 1/2 furlong event, MUKAMER scorched through early fractions of :22.4, 46.4, and :59.3 to prevail in 1:06:1 over the Finger Lakes track. Out of the Island Whirl mare Vivano, he now has two wins, three times second in six starts for earnings of $43,430 to date.

MUKAMER, a 2-year-colt from the 1st crop of multiple graded stakes winner MUSTANFAR, was runnerup in this five-furlong allowance test at Presque Isle Downs on August 27. Making just his second career start, he stalked the pace four wide and finished with good effort. In his career debut, MUKAMER vied for the lead on the turn, opened up in the stretch and won a five-furlong Maiden Special Weight by 1 3/4 lengths on August 12 at Finger Lakes.

First crop sire MUSTANFAR recorded his first winner August 12 as MUKAMER drove to a convincing victory in his debut at Finger Lakes. Battling for the lead entering the turn, the 2-year-old colt opened up in the stretch to maintain victory in the closing stages. A son of Unbridled, MUSTANFAR is a multiple graded stakes winner from a sire family that includes the likes of Nashwan. His 2-year-olds are currently hitting the track this year.
