3YO SWEET LITTLE MAN Becomes Newest Stakes Horse

Making his stakes debut, SWEET LITTLE MAN placed in the $150,000 Victoria Park S. at Woodbine, a springboard to the Queen’s Plate. Racing 1 1/8 miles on the all-weather track, the 3-year-old colt from the second crop of JAZIL stalked the pace in the early going, swung three wide on the far turn and ran on to the wire. He was nearly seven lengths in front of the next-placed horse. SWEET LITTLE MAN has had solid runner-up finishes in his two other starts this year. He won a Maiden Special Weight here in his last start of 2012, and has now won or placed in six of seven starts and earned over $112,000.
And on June 16, WICKED JAZZ won her second start of the year at Colonial Downs. The 4-year-old filly by JAZIL stalked the pace, then closed on the outside in this 1 1/16-mile turf event to win in a drive by 3/4 length.

JASIZZLE became his sire’s fourth graded stakes horse this year with a very close finish in the six-furlong Aristides S.-G3 at Churchill Downs. Racing on the main track and breaking from post five, this four-year-old son of JAZIL dueled for the lead from the outset. JASIZZLE put away his challenger to gain a short lead in midstretch, and then dug in stubbornly to battle a horse closing on the outside to the wire to make it close, beaten only a neck. He has won or placed in five of six starts this year and has five career wins and earnings over $188,000.

More than 10 lengths back after a half, RAZZLE JAZIL rallied to win going away in a Maiden test at Delaware Park. Breaking from post eight in this one mile turf event, the son of JAZIL circled horses on the far turn and then ran past the leader inside the final furlong to win by three lengths. Making just his third start, the Jonathan Sheppard-trainee for Lake Lonely Racing was last seen finishing on the board at Keeneland.

NAJJAAR became the third graded stakes this year for JAZIL when he placed in the Grade 3 Louisville H. at Churchill Downs. Racing 1 1/2 miles on the turf, this 4-year-old homebred colt made a sweeping five wide move around the final turn and continued to finish strong through the stretch, beaten less than a length. It was 6 1/2 lengths back to the next horse. NAJJAAR had previously closed from last to place in the $125,000 Arlington Classic S. in 2012, beaten only 2 1/2 lengths. He has now won or placed in nine of 13 career starts.

The 4-year-old son of JAZIL forced the pace from the outset, challenged for the lead on the turn and continued to battle to the wire, finishing just a 1/2-length back. With four graded stakes horses in the field, it was a hotly contested pace with fractions of :21 2/5, :44 1/5, and :56, with the final time of 1:08 4/5 for the six furlongs. A versatile winner on dirt, turf and all-weather, JASIZZLE has five wins, including a five-furlong turf allowance here last year, was runner-up in the Sophomore Sprint S. in November, and has earnings of more than $167,000.

Making only her second career start and stretching out to two turns, JAZ UNLIMITED rallied through the stretch to win this 1 1/16-mile maiden turf event at Golden Gate. Settling early then dropping back to get a better run outside on the far turn, the 3-year-old filly from the second crop of JAZIL put in a strong drive down the lane to win by a length. In her debut in late March, JAZ UNLIMITED rallied late to place in a five-furlong test on the all-weather surface, just a little over a length back. She is out of the Straight Man mare, Sister Shark.
And on Saturday, April 27, PERSISTANTPLEASURE won for the second time in her last three starts when the 4-year-old daughter of JAZIL took a seven-furlong event on dirt. Stretching out around two turns for the first time, MR GARDE went wire-to-wire to easily get the win in this maiden race at Keeneland. Racing 1 1/16 miles on the all weather surface, the 3-year-old colt from the second crop of JAZIL broke on top out of post three. Setting the pace from the outset, MR GARDE drew off after six furlongs and was never threatened winning off by 6 1/2 lengths. Out of the Confide mare, Song of Confidence, he was making his fourth career start and has been off the board only once after being severely bumped at the start in his debut.

On the same day, JASIZZLE, the 3-year-old stakes horse from JAZIL’s first crop, scored a determined 1 1/2-length victory in a 6f allowance at Mountaineer. This was the fourth victory for the sophomore who has now earned over $100,000. He is out of Silky Bay, by Stravinsky.

Rated in third in the early going after a clean break from post five, AWLEYAA started reeling in the frontrunner on the turn. By the time they hit the top of the stretch the homebred filly had taken the lead, widened the margin to five lengths by midstretch, then geared it down to the wire to win by 3 1/4 lengths in hand. Considered by many to be the most important Thoroughbred race in Venezuela, COMEDIANTE ran the 1 1/2 miles in 2:29.3. This was the sixth victory in this prestigious event for trainer Julio Ayala Coronil, the most wins by any trainer. Earlier this year, COMEDIANTE won the G1 Gold Cup Classic (Clasico Copa de Oro-G1) and has amassed four wins, two seconds and once third from eight starts to date. UNTIL YOU started his career off right with a wire-to-wire win in a six-furlong Maiden Special Weight on Hollywood Park’s all weather surface. Breaking first out of post six, this 3-year-old son of JAZIL led through early fractions of :22 2/5 and :45 3/5 and remained on top to the wire, a 1/2 length in front. He is a homebred for Coal Creek Farm and is trained by Vann Belvoir.

Making just her second start of the year and first in over four months, JAZIL’S SONG put in a strong drive down the middle of the stretch to take this one mile maiden turf event at Churchill Downs against her elders. Taken back early for the first half mile, this 3-year-old daughter of Belmont S.-G1 winner JAZIL angled out at the top of the stretch for the drive and closed with a rush inside the final furlong to overtake the leaders and win by 1 3/4 lengths. She is a homebred for Peggy L. McFadden and is trained by Ken McPeek.

A debut winner on January 1st of this year, MACHIAVELLIANISM (IND) displayed his promising ability with a runner-up finish in the Juvenile Million (IND-2) at Bangalore. This seven-furlong turf sprint was just the four career start for this first crop 3-year-old son of Classic winner JAZIL. He finished three lengths ahead of the third-place horse in this G2 event with a field of 10.
The third stakes horse in 2012 for JAZIL is out of the Red Ransom mare, Empress Jessie, and is from the family of Exchange Rate and Champions Arazi and Ajdal.

In his first stakes attempt on grass, NAJJAAR closed with a rush to gain third in the $125,000 Arlington Classic S. In this 1 1/16-mile event over Arlington Park’s turf course, he was just a 1/2 length behind the runner-up. This 3-year-old son of Belmont S.-G1 winner JAZIL has won or placed in six of nine starts, including an allowance tally against older horses.

After placing in a Keeneland Maiden Special Weight in her debut on April 27, this 2-year-old filly from the second crop of Classic winner JAZIL easily won her second start, a 4 1/2-furlong Maiden Special Weight at Presque Isle Downs. Settling just off the pace after breaking on top, LOVE ME GOOD caught the leader on the turn and proceeded to pull away to win handily on the all weather by three lengths. This promising juvenile filly races for Blazing Meadow Farm and breeder Sheltowee Farm, and is trained by Timothy Hamm.

COMEDIANTE, a 3-year-old colt from the first crop of Classic winner JAZIL, is undefeated in his first two starts after taking the 1400-meter listed Copa My Own Business S. on the main dirt track at Hipódromo La Rinconada in Caracas, Venezuela. Far back early on, he swung way wide coming out of the turn and closed with a rush down the center of the track to win going away by two lengths. COMEDIANTE started his career out winning his debut back on April 1 at this same distance and track. It is believed that COMEDIANTE might make his next start in the Clasico Jose Antonio Paez Stakes (VEN-I), considered their 2000 Guineas, in four weeks, one of their Classics. A winner on both dirt and turf, ASLIGIBI won for the fourth time when she took this 1400-meter race on the dirt at Ýzmir Þirinyer Racecourse.
The 3-year-old daughter from the first crop of classic winner JAZIL was content to be placed at the back of the pack just biding her time until the turn for home. Swung out to the middle of the track for the stretch drive, ASLIGIBI started gaining on the leaders in mid-stretch, swept past the front runners in the final sixteenth and won going away by three lengths. On the board in nine of 10 starts, her first three victories came on turf including a debut win back in April.

Just missing in a Maiden Special Weight back in early December, this juvenile wasn't about to let that happen again. Breaking first coming out of post four, he was 2 1/2 lengths in front at the top of the stretch and maintained that same margin to the wire.

PERDIDO PASS, a 2-year-old colt from the first crop of Classic winner JAZIL, broke his maiden by nearly three lengths going 1 1/16 miles over Churchill Downs’ main track.
Making his third start, PERDIDO PASS stayed close to the pace made a challenge on the final turn and drew clear from the field to score by 2 3/4 lengths. He now has earnings of $11,860.

FARHAAN, a 2-year-old colt by Freshman sire JAZIL, made it two-in-a-row when he proved best to take a one-mile event at Salisbury on September 1.
Tracking the leader early on, FARHAAN began to challenge that one with three furlongs to go, gained the lead with an eighth-mile to go and fought to the wire winning the battle by a neck. In his previous start, he was much the best taking a seven-furlong Maiden event by four lengths at Newmarket on August 12.

COMPRESSOR, a 2-year-old colt by Freshman sire JAZIL, won for the second time in three starts when he took a 6 1/2-furlong race at Camarero on August 20. In his first career start, he broke first out of the gate and never relinquished the lead to win a 5 1/2-furlong Maiden race on June 29. Breaking from post five in his debut, COMPRESSOR held a slight lead for the first part of the race, but quickly began to separate himself from the field and won by an eye-catching 9 3/4 lengths.

FARHAAN, a 2-year-old colt from the 1st crop of Classic winner JAZIL, was a professional winner of this seven-furlong Maiden event at Newmarket on August 12.
Racing in a prominent position from the start, FARHAAN took over with a couple of furlongs to go, continued to improve his margin and finished with good effort to win by four lengths.
Out of the stakes-winning Danzig mare, Alshadiyah, this promising colt is owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and was bred by Shadwell Farm LLC. He was making his second career start after finishing second in his first start at Newbury on July 15.

ASLIGIBI is the first winner for our Freshman Sire JAZIL. The 2-year-old filly impressively rallied through the stretch to break her maiden first time out going 800 meters over the slightly soft turf course in the 5th race at Ankara.
Near the back of the field while saving ground around the turn, ALSIGIBI switched to the outside and launched her bid. Closing like a rocket, she swept past the competition and caught the leader in the final strides to win by a neck.
Bred in Kentucky by Rick Nichols and Bernie Sams, ASLIGIBI was produced by the Dixieland Band mare, Tajannub. She races for Francesco Sponza and is trained by Serdar Poyraz.
