SPANISH JAZZ now has six wins and four runner-up finishes from 12 career starts after this comfortable allowance tally. This son of JAZIL forced the early pace, vied for the lead at the 3/8-pole, then took control in deep stretch to get the win by 1 1/2 lengths going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Sunland. One race back, the ultra consistent SPANISH JAZZ was on the board in the $75,000 Bill Thomas Memorial S., beaten just a little over three lengths for the win. A winner on dirt and turf and going two turns, SPANISH JAZZ is out of the Hennessy mare, Spanish Cat, and was bred in Kentucky by Don Amos & Crossroads Farm, LLC.

Making his first start of the year, FARHAAN, 5-year-old by JAZIL, won the $100,000-added Stymie Stakes, going 1 1/8 miles at Aqueduct.  A stakes winner in his previous start in December, FARHAAN showed his grit as he took the lead after 6 furlongs, dueled with the favorite through the stretch, and dug in gamely to prevail. Winning for the fifth time in his career, FARHAAN started his career in England, racing there for two seasons before coming to the U.S. last year.  Bred in Kentucky by owner Shadwell Stables, FARHAAN is out of the Danzig mare Alshadiyah.

Homebred wins Sycamore S. at Keeneland

 Shadwell Farm homebred NAJJAAR won the $100,000 Sycamore S. on Oct 17 at Keeneland, going 1 1/2 miles over the main track.  The 4-year-old son of JAZIL was coming off a strong effort in the American St. Leger S. at Arlington Park in which he has finished third.
NAJJAAR stalked the pace for much of the race, began to move in the far turn, then took the lead as they moved into the stretch.  Ridden by James Graham and trained by Daniel Peitz, NAJJAAR drew clear then dug in to hold off a late challenge and won by three-quarters of a length. Bred in Kentucky, Shadwell is out of the Darshaan mare Hasheema. He has won or placed in 11 of his 16 career starts.

SPANISH JAZZ won his third race of 2013 in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance over Turf Paradise’s main track. SPANISH JAZZ did not get away cleanly and in turn was forced to race from the back of the pack. As they entered the stretch, the son of JAZIL made quick work of his opponents and was clear of them by 5 1/2 lengths when crossing the wire. SPANISH JAZZ is out of the Hennessy mare Spanish Cat and was bred by Don Amos & Crossroads Farm, LLC.

Dueling for the lead throughout the one mile race over a sloppy track with the eventual runner-up, UNTIL YOU got the bob on the line to win by a nose. This was UNTIL YOU’s third victory from four starts this year.  Out of the Dayjur mare, One for You, the 4-year-old now has earnings over $87,000.

Making just her second career start, JAZIL’S DREAM came up just a head short in this off-the-turf event at Belmont Park. Racing one mile in this $96,000 Maiden Special Weight, the 2-year-old filly by JAZIL broke awkwardly and bumped with another leaving the gate but was able to stay in contention from there. Sitting close up as they raced through the first six furlongs, JAZIL’S DREAM moved up to second after that and put pressure on the frontrunner the rest of the way to the wire for the narrow loss. Out of American Dreamer, by Quest for Fame, JAZIL’S DREAM also had a troubled trip in her debut on the turf at Belmont.

JASIZZLE set a pressured pace throughout and dug in to prevail by a half length as the heavy favorite in a $37,000  6f. allowance at Mountaineer.  Winning for the sixth time, JASIZZLE set rapid fractions of 21.4, 44.4 and proved a game winner for owner/breeder/trainer Tommy Mills.  JASIZZLE is now a graded stakes-placed winner of nearly $240,000.  The 4-year-old is out of the Stravinsky mare, Silky Baby.

UNTIL YOU posted a relentless stretch drive to win a $30,000 allowance in the final jump.  Going one mile over a fast main track at Emerald Downs, UNTIL YOU set sail after the favorite cutting into his lead and was ahead at the wire, finishing the mile in 1:35.04.  It was the third win for the 4-year-old who is out of the Dayjur mare, One for You, who now has earnings of nearly $75,000.

NAJJAAR finished willingly between horses to place in the second running of the $400,000 American St. Leger Stakes at Arlington Park on Million day.  Run over 1 11/16 miles over Arlington's turf, NAJJAAR finished just over a length behind the winner. The 4-year-old son of JAZIL was third in the Louisville H.-G3 in May and had an on the board finish in the Arlington H.-G3 in his previous start. He was bred by Shadwell Farm in Kentucky from the Irish-bred mare Hasheema who is by Darshaan.

Away from the races for nearly a year,  FARHAAN  made his first start in the U.S. winning a one mile allowance over Saratoga's main track.  In an impressive show of determination, FARHAAN out-gamed his rival to prevail in a tight photo.  The 4-year-old by JAZIL broke his maiden at Newmarket at two and now has three wins from eight starts. Bred in Kentucky by owner Shadwell Stables, FARHAAN is out of the Danzig mare Alshadiyah.

Previously placed, MISS ARABY defeated eight rivals in taking a maiden event at Las Americas.  The 2-year-old filly by JAZIL was purchased by Enrique Cantarell at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale.  Bred in Kentucky by Paradise Productions, LLC, she is out of the Aljabr mare, Araby, making her a full sister to the multiple winning 3-year-old She’s Mighty Fast.

JAZIL was represented by three individual winners across the U.S. on Sunday.  JAZIL BELL raced near the pace to break his maiden by a neck in a game effort going 1 1/6 miles over the turf at Ellis Park.  The top pair were six lengths clear of the rest of the field.  He is a 3YO son of JAZIL out of the Elnadim mare Ella Belle.  UNTIL YOU scored in his first start in nearly nine months, winning an allowance at Emerald Downs, six furlongs on the dirt. Previously a MSW winner at Hollywood Park, UNTIL YOU is a 4-year-old out of the Dayjur mare One for You.  Rounding out the trio of winners for JAZIL is SHE’S MIGHTY FAST.  Winning for the second time, SHE’S MIGHTY FAST drew off from the field to win by 4 ½ lengths going 1 1/16 mile over the turf at Canterbury Park.  The 3YO filly is out of the Aljabr mare, Araby.

JASIZZLE broke on top and led gate to wire to finish first by 7 3/4 lengths in the $100,000 Senator Robert C. Byrd Memorial S. on the undercard of the West Virginia Derby. The 4-year-old son of JAZIL collided with the runner-up coming out of the starting gate and was eventually placed second. Just two races back, JASIZZLE was a gallant runner-up, beaten only a neck, in Churchill Downs’ Grade 3 Aristides S. In that race, he dueled for the lead from the start, put away his challenger to gain the lead in midstretch and then battled to the wire for a narrow loss. JASIZZLE has now won or placed in six of eight starts this year and had racked up career earnings of over $214,000.

LOVE ME GOOD followed her allowance showing in her previous start with an authoritative win going a mile over the all weather track at Presque Isle Downs.  Drawing off through the stretch, she won by nearly three lengths. This stakes-placed homebred filly by JAZIL was third in the Our Mims Stakes last year, and finished on the board in the Debutante S-G3 at Churchill Downs as well.  LOVE ME GOOD is out of the Albert the Great mare, Lovegood.

A winner here in late May, RAZZLE JAZIL followed that up with an impressive three-length win at 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Delaware Park. The 4-year-old son of JAZIL was more than seven lengths back after six furlongs but soon got into the race in a hurry. Swinging outside for the drive to the wire, RAZZLE JAZIL ran down the leader near the furlong marker and won going away. In his maiden victory, he also closed from far back to win by three lengths at a mile on the turf. The Jonathan Sheppard-trainee for Lake Lonely Racing finished on the board at Keeneland prior to his maiden score and has now won two of four starts.

Making his stakes debut, SWEET LITTLE MAN placed in the $150,000 Victoria Park S. at Woodbine, a springboard to the Queen’s Plate. Racing 1 1/8 miles on the all-weather track, the 3-year-old colt from the second crop of JAZIL stalked the pace in the early going, swung three wide on the far turn and ran on to the wire. He was nearly seven lengths in front of the next-placed horse. SWEET LITTLE MAN has had solid runner-up finishes in his two other starts this year. He won a Maiden Special Weight here in his last start of 2012, and has now won or placed in six of seven starts and earned over $112,000.

And on June 16, WICKED JAZZ won her second start of the year at Colonial Downs. The 4-year-old filly by JAZIL stalked the pace, then closed on the outside in this 1 1/16-mile turf event to win in a drive by 3/4 length.

JASIZZLE became his sire’s fourth graded stakes horse this year with a very close finish in the six-furlong Aristides S.-G3 at Churchill Downs. Racing on the main track and breaking from post five, this four-year-old son of JAZIL dueled for the lead from the outset. JASIZZLE put away his challenger to gain a short lead in midstretch, and then dug in stubbornly to battle a horse closing on the outside to the wire to make it close, beaten only a neck. NAJJAAR became the third graded stakes this year for JAZIL when he placed in the Grade 3 Louisville H. at Churchill Downs. Racing 1 1/2 miles on the turf, this 4-year-old homebred colt made a sweeping five wide move around the final turn and continued to finish strong through the stretch, beaten less than a length. It was 6 1/2 lengths back to the next horse. NAJJAAR had previously closed from last to place in the $125,000 Arlington Classic S. in 2012, beaten only 2 1/2 lengths. Facing graded stakes winners at Churchill Downs, JASIZZLE gave a good account of himself with a runner-up finish in this high-class allowance sprint. The 4-year-old son of JAZIL forced the pace from the outset, challenged for the lead on the turn and continued to battle to the wire, finishing just a 1/2-length back. With four graded stakes horses in the field, it was a hotly contested pace with fractions of :21 2/5, :44 1/5, and :56, with the final time of 1:08 4/5 for the six furlongs. Making only her second career start and stretching out to two turns, JAZ UNLIMITED rallied through the stretch to win this 1 1/16-mile maiden turf event at Golden Gate. Settling early then dropping back to get a better run outside on the far turn, the 3-year-old filly from the second crop of JAZIL put in a strong drive down the lane to win by a length. In her debut in late March, JAZ UNLIMITED rallied late to place in a five-furlong test on the all-weather surface, just a little over a length back. She is out of the Straight Man mare, Sister Shark.

And on Saturday, April 27, PERSISTANTPLEASURE won for the second time in her last three starts when the 4-year-old daughter of JAZIL took a seven-furlong event on dirt. Off slow early, she joined the leaders near the eighth pole, then split rivals to get up for the win at SunRay Park. Stretching out around two turns for the first time, MR GARDE went wire-to-wire to easily get the win in this maiden race at Keeneland. Racing 1 1/16 miles on the all weather surface, the 3-year-old colt from the second crop of JAZIL broke on top out of post three. Setting the pace from the outset, MR GARDE drew off after six furlongs and was never threatened winning off by 6 1/2 lengths. Out of the Confide mare, Song of Confidence, he was making his fourth career start and has been off the board only once after being severely bumped at the start in his debut.

Runner-up in his first start after a long layoff, Southern Hemisphere 3-year-old COLLATINO made his next start a winning one taking this five-furlong maiden event on the dirt by 3 1/4 lengths at Monterrico, in Peru. The homebred son of Classic winner JAZIL defeated 13 rivals to win this 1 1/4-mile event by three lengths on the all-weather surface at Cagnes-sur-Mer. Out of the unraced Danzig mare, Taseel, SEFRI’s second dam is the Group 3 winner Alabaq, and his third dam is Salsabil, champion 3yo filly in Europe and Ireland and triple Classic winner who became this first filly in 90 years to capture the Irish Derby-G1 in 1990.

ASLIGIBI Notches Sixth Win

A multiple winner on dirt and turf, the 4-year-old filly by JAZIL won for the sixth time in her career when she took this 1900-meter event on the dirt at Izmir. Coming from near the back of the pack, ASLIGIBI put in a closing kick down the center of the track to catch the frontrunner and win by 1/2 length. Bred in Kentucky, ASLIGIBI was produced by the Dixieland Band mare, Tajannub. She races for Francesco Sponza and is trained by Metin Saçan.

Coming off a G1 win last out, MACHIAVELLIANISM (IND) put in his usual closing kick down the stretch to place in the Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup (IND-2). Going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Mumbai, the 4-year-old son of JAZIL finished just 1 1/2 lengths back of the win. This is the seventh graded race MACHIAVELLIANISM has won or placed in during his career, which includes six wins and five placings in 14 starts. He has never finished off the board.

This 3-year-old son from the first crop of JAZIL defeated 17 rivals going one mile on the turf at Mumbai. For the year, MACHIAVELLIANISM has won or finished runner-up in six graded stakes. He is out of the Red Ransom mare, Empress Jessie, and is trained by LVR Dushmukh.

2YO HAWAAKOM Scores MSW in Second Start

Making just his second career start and stretching out to two turns, HAWAAKOM took the lead near the eighth pole and won a Maiden Special Weight by 1 1/2 lengths. This 2-year-old homebred colt by JAZIL settled off the pace in the early going of the one mile & 70 yards contest on Fair Grounds’ main track, then swung six wide into the stretch and rallied down the lane for the win.

SILK SIDE SUSAN, a 2-year-old filly from the second crop of Classic winner JAZIL put in a powerful rally to prove best in a 5f maiden event at Delta Downs.  Previously placed in four of five starts, SILK SIDE SUSAN is out of Rachel’s Viva, by Viva Deputy. On the same day, JASIZZLE, the 3-year-old stakes horse from JAZIL’s first crop, scored a determined 1 1/2-length victory in a 6f allowance at Mountaineer.  This was the fourth victory for the sophomore who has now earned over $100,000.  He is out of Silky Bay, by Stravinsky.


The following day, JAZIL’S SONG made a bold bid to reel in the leaders and scored in a one mile event over Turfway Park’s all weather surface by two lengths.  The 3-year-old filly earlier won at one mile over the turf at Churchill Downs.  She is out of the Confide mare, Song of Confidence.

In her third career start, all this year, the 3-year-old filly from the first crop of Classic winner JAZIL made it look easy in this six-furlong Maiden Special Weight on the main track at Laurel. Rated in third in the early going after a clean break from post five, AWLEYAA started reeling in the frontrunner on the turn. By the time they hit the top of the stretch the homebred filly had taken the lead, widened the margin to five lengths by midstretch, then geared it down to the wire to win by 3 1/4 lengths in hand. In her previous race, AWLEYAA, who is out of the stakes-winning Storm Cat mare, Elrafa Ah, was placed in a Maiden Special Weight at Aqueduct.

COMEDIANTE, 3YO colt from the first crop of Classic Winner JAZIL, put on powerful display as he strode to the wire by some seven lengths for an easy victory in the Clasico Simon Bolivar-G1, racing 2400 meters over the main track at Hipodromo La Rinconada.  Considered by many to be the most important Thoroughbred race in Venezuela, COMEDIANTE ran the 1 1/2 miles in 2:29.3.  This was the sixth victory in this prestigious event for trainer Julio Ayala Coronil, the most wins by any trainer.  Earlier this year, COMEDIANTE won the G1 Gold Cup Classic (Clasico Copa de Oro-G1) and has amassed four wins, two seconds and once third from eight starts to date.  He is out of the Dynaformer mare Jordyn Macoma.

Putting in her patented late rally down the center of the track, ASLIGIBI won for the fifth time taking a 1400-meter dirt event at Ankara Racecourse. The 3-year-old daughter from the first crop of classic winner JAZIL was parked near the back of the pack in the early going, but once they straightened out for home, she began to get in gear. By the time the leaders reached the sixteenth pole, the 10-plus lengths ASLIGIBI had spotted her rivals was gone and she swept past them to win by two widening lengths. A winner on both dirt and turf, ASLIGIBI won for the fourth time when she took this 1400-meter race on the dirt at Ýzmir Þirinyer Racecourse.

The 3-year-old daughter from the first crop of classic winner JAZIL was content to be placed at the back of the pack just biding her time until the turn for home. Swung out to the middle of the track for the stretch drive, ASLIGIBI started gaining on the leaders in mid-stretch, swept past the front runners in the final sixteenth and won going away by three lengths. PERDIDO PASS, a 2-year-old colt  from the first crop of Classic winner JAZIL, broke his maiden by nearly three lengths going 1 1/16 miles over Churchill Downs’ main track.

Making his third start, PERDIDO PASS stayed close to the pace made a challenge on the final turn and drew clear from the field to score by 2 3/4 lengths.  He now has earnings of $11,860.

Tracking the leader early on, FARHAAN began to challenge that one with three furlongs to go, gained the lead with an eighth-mile to go and fought to the wire winning the battle by a neck. In his previous start, he was much the best taking a seven-furlong Maiden event by four lengths at Newmarket on August 12.

FARHAAN, a 2-year-old colt from the 1st crop of Classic winner JAZIL, was a professional winner of this seven-furlong Maiden event at Newmarket on August 12.

Racing in a prominent position from the start, FARHAAN took over with a couple of furlongs to go, continued to improve his margin and finished with good effort to win by four lengths.

ASLIGIBI is the first winner for our Freshman Sire JAZIL. The 2-year-old filly impressively rallied through the stretch to break her maiden first time out going 800 meters over the slightly soft turf course in the 5th race at Ankara.

Near the back of the field while saving ground around the turn, ALSIGIBI switched to the outside and launched her bid. Closing like a rocket, she swept past the competition and caught the leader in the final strides to win by a neck.
