PSALMS OF PRAISE (03 f, o/o Sajjaya, by Blushing Groom (FR)) closed out 2005 with a 7 1/4 length victory at Calder. The 2-year-old filly settled off the pace while three wide in the six furlong event, then rallied to take over in the stretch and increased her advantage to the wire as the betting favorite. It was her second win at Calder this year. A $58,000 OBS August yearling sales graduate, PSALMS OF PRAISE was bred in Kentucky by CHO LLC. She races for N. T. S. Stable Inc. and is trained by Milton Wolfson.

RIVER CITY REBEL (03 c, o/o Dancing Marrea, by Lord At War (ARG)) captured a maiden special weight at Turfway Park in impressive fashion. The 2-year-old colt forced the pace while three wide in the 6 1/2 furlong maiden on the all weather track, then simply burst clear and held the field at bay, winning by 2 1/2 lengths. He is the 39th career victor for his young sire, SAHM. Bred in Kentucky, RIVER CITY REBEL races as a homebred for James A. Hill. Larry Holt is the juvenile colt's conditioner.

It was just eight days ago that GLASNEVIN (01 f, o/o Renewable, by Affirmed) won at Sunland Park, but the 4-year-old filly was already back in the winner's circle. Once again, she hesitated at the break and then leapt from the gate. She contentedly rated along at the back of the pack in the one mile race and then weaved through traffic on the second turn. The daughter of SAHM took charge in the stretch and pulled clear to win by an impressive 9 1/2 lengths as the favorite. Bred in Kentucky by James M. Recent turf maiden special weight winner ROCKABY BAY (03 c, o/o Sunshine Nell, by Candy Stripes) found the allowance ranks on the dirt to his liking and captured a nice allowance at Laurel Park. He broke midpack in the one mile allowance and came into the stretch very wide, but quickly drew clear by daylight. The juvenile lugged in near the sixteenth pole but still held on to win by a length. Bred in Kentucky by Mrs. Arturo Peralta-Ramos, ROCKABY BAY is a Jaqueline Peralta-Ramos colorbearer and is trained by Hamilton Smith.

GLASNEVIN (01 f, o/o Renewable, by Affirmed) won less than a month ago at Zia Park and continued her assault on New Mexico with a daylight victory at Sunland Park. She made an eager leap from the gate but settled kindly and made her move on the second turn. The 4-year-old filly made the front in midstretch and pulled clear to win the one mile dirt race by 2 3/4 lengths. Bred in Kentucky by James M. Biller, GLASNEVIN is owned by Joey Keith Davis and is trained by Chris A. Hartman.

SWEET BREANNA (03 f, o/o Sweet Roberta, by Roberto) captured a rich maiden special weight at Woodbine for her first career victory. The juvenile filly bobbled at the start but managed to set all the pace while being pressured. She was in front by daylight in early stretch and held off a strong closer to win the 1 1/16 mile race by a half length while under a drive. Bred in Ontario by Spring Farm, SWEET BREANNA races for Beclawat Stable and is conditioned by Steve Attard. She is a full sister to three-time winner Sweet Dream Rhody.

Coquinerie (01 f, o/o Istinad, by Kris S.) added a 2005 allowance score at Calder Race Course to her record which already boasts two stakes placings. In the Calder allowance, going one mile on the dirt, COQUINERIE rated off the pace near the back of the field before making her move inside the sixteenth pole. The 2002 Keeneland September yearling sales graduate got to the front late and won going away by 2 1/2 lengths. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, the 4-year-old filly from SAHM's first crop is campaigned by Caroni Stable and is trained by Rodolfo Garcia.

ANOTHER STORY (01 c, o/o Gaily Mew Gull (IRE), by Brief Truce) was the third winner of the day for SAHM when he won a 5 1/2 furlong sprint at Beulah Park. The 4-year-old notched his fourth career victory at the Ohio track in dramatic style. He was never closer than fourth while racing three wide before putting in a furious rally in midstretch. His determination carried him to the front in the very last stride and it took a photo to show he had won by nose. Bred in Kentucky by Tokyo Thoroughbred Bureau, ANOTHER STORY campaigns for Tim Disney and is trained by Kenneth A. Morgan.

Pennsylvania-bred FALCON IN FLIGHT (01 c, o/o Booklore, by Snow Chief) captured a six furlong event at Hoosier Park for his fifth lifetime win. The 4-year-old was midpack early, then moved up while four wide on the turn to challenge the frontrunner. The son of SAHM was in front by midstretch and went on to win by 2 1/2 lengths as the favorite. Bred in Pennsylvania by Gary Farrar and Karen Farrar, FALCON IN FLIGHT is raced by Louis D. O'Brien and is trained by Ralph Martinez. He was a $27,000 yearling at the 2002 Keeneland September sale.

GLASNEVIN (01 f, o/o Renewable, by Affirmed) took her time in the early stages of this 1 1/16 mile race at New Mexico's new Zia Park. She quickly made up for lost time, making her move while four wide and opening up a daylight lead by the eighth pole. The 4-year-old filly had drawn clear by 3 1/2 lengths at the wire. Bred in Kentucky by James M. Biller, GLASNEVIN is owned and trained by Dennis Ward.

SAHM WEANLING BRINGS $100,000 AT FASIG-TIPTON
A weanling filly by Shadwell sire SAHM out of the Shadeed mare Nadwah sold for $100,000 at the one-day Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Selected Fall Mixed sale. Hill 'n Dale Sales Agency, agent, consigned the January foal and she was purchased by Epona Bloodstock Ltd.
Shadwell Sales had actually sold this filly in utero at last fall's Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale when selling Nadwah in foal to SAHM. Horse France purchased her at the time for $110,000. Nadwah was a group winner at two and this filly is her fourth live foal.

ROCKABY BAY (03 c, o/o Sunshine Nell, by Candy Stripes) negotiated a full field of 14 to score a maiden special weight victory at Laurel Park. The 2-year-old colt came from midpack on the rail into the stretch and closed swiftly. He was steadied late in the race after being put in tight quarters by a loose horse but notched a length win. He got the one mile on the turf (with the rail set at 35 feet) in a quick 1:36 2/5. A Kentucky-bred for Mrs. Arturo Peralta-Ramos, ROCKABY BAY races for Jaqueline Peralta-Ramos and is trained by Hamilton Smith.

Previous stakes winner ADAALA (02 f, o/o Alshoowg, by Riverman) added more blacktype to her resume with a runner-up finish in the Ali Retza & Mamadi Soudavar EBF Garnet S. at Naas in Ireland. Against a field of 20 other sophomore fillies, ADAALA settled in third throughout much of the one mile stakes. She found the front a little more than a furlong from home, but got passed by the winner and settled for a strong second in the last 100 yards. It was the fifth stakes win or placing in her 12-race career. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm Inc., ADAALA races for Hamdan Al Maktoum and is trained by Kevin Prendergast.

SAMS SAHM (02 c, o/o Flakes of Gold (GB), by Dancing Spree) won for the second month in a row, first at Louisiana Downs and now at Thistledown. The 3-year-old colt captured a six furlong allowance by 2 1/2 lengths after a perfect trip. He stalked the early pace, angled out three wide entering the stretch, and drew clear to win handily. Bred in Kentucky by Craig R. Britton and Jackie Fite, SAMS SAHM races for Jack L. Boggs. Jeffrey Radosevich handles conditioning duties.

MAGNET FOR MONEY (02 c, o/o Deer Ambi, by Deerhound) broke his maiden at first asking over a 23-horse field. He tracked the early leaders in the 10 furlong maiden event at Navan in Ireland, then asserted himself more than two furlongs from home. He won comfortably by 1 1/2 lengths. As a first-time starter, he had gone to post at 25-1 over the large field. Bred in the U.S. by Peter Fuller and Dan Mallory, MAGNET FOR MONEY is owned and trained by Paul Magnier. It was the trainer's first win in Ireland.

Group winner MUSTAMEET (01 c, o/o Hamasah, by Irish River (FR)) finished a strong third in the Concorde S.-G3 at Tipperary in Ireland. Going about 7 1/2 furlongs in the group event, he raced midpack and was "slightly hampered" in the final furlong, but closed steadily to register a placing. From 10 starts, MUSTAMEET now has seven wins or placings, including five in stakes. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, he races for Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum and is trained by Kevin Prendergast. The 4-year-old is one of six stakes horses for his sire, SAHM.

JUST ONE BID (01 f, o/o Kiwi House, by Housebuster) took a liking to the new all-weather track at Turfway Park and captured a six furlong sprint on Kentucky Cup Day. The 4-year-old filly forced the pace while three wide and outbattled the frontrunner in the stretch to win by a neck. It was her fifth lifetime victory. Bred in Kentucky by Kenneth L. The juvenile filly took on a field of nine going 4 1/2 furlongs and set a pressured pace throughout. She responded nicely for the drive and drew clear to win by four widening lengths. She got the distance in a good :54. The $58,000 OBS August yearling sales graduate was bred in Kentucky by CHO LLC and now races for owner/trainer James K. Chapman.

MISS D FLAWLESS (01 f, o/o Trickntreat, by Clever Trick) put in a heart-stopping performance to win big in an allowance at Finger Lakes. She was completely content and unhurried in midpack throughout the about one mile and 70 yard race until the stretch, when she turned on the afterburners and nailed the frontrunner on the wire. She won by a nose. Bred in New York by Barry R. Ostrager, MISS D FLAWLESS races for Very Un Stable and is trained by Michael S. Ferraro.

SAHM SWEETHEART (03 f, o/o Plana Dance, by Northern Flagship) set all the pace to romp home a 3 1/4 length winner in a maiden special weight at Canterbury Park. The 2-year-old filly was never threatened going 5 1/2 furlongs on the dirt and widened her advantage when asked for a facile victory. The rest of the field was strung out behind her. She races as a homebred for Robert D. Colvin. The Minnesota-bred juvenile is trained by Maclean Robertson.

Group winner MUSTAMEET (01 c, o/o Hamasah, by Irish River (FR)) added another stakes placing to his burgeoning resume with a close second in the Desmond S.-G3 at Leopardstown in Ireland. Going one mile on the grass and carrying 135 pounds, he tracked the leaders before making his move. He was a just a short head back in second at the wire and the winner was all out to beat him. MUSTAMEET now has four stakes wins or placings (three group/graded) in just nine starts. The 2-year-old colt, the second winner from SAHM's third crop of juveniles, hopped at the start and broke outwards. He quickly recovered to stalk the pace before taking command in the stretch. ADAALA (02 f, o/o Alshoowg, by Riverman) captured the Kilboy Estate S. at the Curragh in Ireland for her second consecutive victory in under three weeks. Although the sophomore filly had twice previously been stakes-placed, including in the One Thousand Guineas Trial-G3, this was her first blacktype victory. She accomplished it with a determined challenge in the final quarter of a mile in the nine furlong race over a good to firm course. She crossed the wire a half-length the better of her 10 rivals. SAHM'S 30TH WINNER IS 3RD-CROP 2YO
GUYS NITE OUT (03 c, o/o Polish Socialite, by Polish Navy) became the first winner from SAHM's third crop of 2-year-olds. The juvenile captured a 4 1/2 furlong maiden special weight at Charles Town after setting all the pace. He became his sire's 30th career winner when he crossed the wire 1 1/4 lengths in front, getting the distance in :54 2/5.

STAR OF SAHM (01 f, o/o Smile With a Smile, by Smile) ducked and bumped into a rival at the start of an allowance race at Charles Town, but recovered quickly. Going seven furlongs on the dirt, the 4-year-old filly found the front on the turn and drove clear in the stretch. Her final margin of victory in the allowance contest was 1 1/2 lengths. Contested over seven furlongs on soft to heavy ground, the prep for the filly classic saw ADAALA press the pace and take command a furlong from home. She was overtaken just before the wire, beaten less than a length. MUSTAMEET WINS GROUP 3 GLADNESS AT CURRAGH
SAHM's son MUSTAMEET (01 c, o/o Hamasah, by Irish River (FR)) captured the Castlemartin & La Louviere Studs Gladness S.-G3 at the Curragh in his first start in nearly six months. He had cracked a hind cannon bone early last year, then broke his maiden at Leopardstown in his only start as a sophomore. He returned in the Group 3 Gladness and raced close to the pace in the seven furlong stakes over heavy turf. He took command more than a furlong from home and crossed the wire a length the best while easing up.
Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, MUSTAMEET also placed in the Juddmonte Beresford S.-G2 at two. He is one of four stakes winners for his young sire SAHM (who stands at Shadwell). MUSTAMEET, who races in the colors of Hamdan al Maktoum, is from the same family as 2001 Breeders' Cup Mile-G1 winner Val Royal (FR). Kevin Prendergast is his conditioner.

The bay colt took his time in the early parts of the race before switching to the inside in the stretch and coming with a rush, notching a half-length win. Early on, she took her time near the back of the field before splitting rivals on the turn. She closed fiercely down the long Fair Grounds stretch and won by a half-length. Bred in Kentucky by Circle T Thoroughbreds, SAHMKINDAWONDERFUL races for Dare To Dream Stable LLC. She is trained by Rebecca Maker.
