SAHM'S RED CONTACT TAKES 2ND HANDICAP IN TWO MONTHS

RED CONTACT (01 c, o/o Basma, by Grey Dawn II) broke his maiden in a Southwell handicap in November and returned to the same course in Great Britain for another handicap win. Going one mile, the 3-year-old battled down to the wire and tenaciously edged a stubborn rival by a short head. It was his second victory over an all weather track.

Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, RED CONTACT campaigns for Meddler Bloodstock and is conditioned by Julian Poulton. He is a $17,000 Keeneland September yearling sales graduate.

COQUINERIE ADDS ANOTHER STAKES PLACING TO TALLY

Sahm's Sophomore filly Coquinerie (01 f, o/o Istinad, by Kris S.) is quietly compiling an enviable record and added another stakes placing to her resume. In showery conditions at Calder, she closed from the very back of the field while four wide in the Golden Pond S. She put in a stiff drive down the stretch of the 1 1/16 mile stakes and just missed by a neck. It was her second runner-up finish in a stakes after three victories.

Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, COQUINERIE races for Caroni Stable and is trained by Rodolfo Garcia. She is a 2002 Keeneland September yearling sales graduate.

SAHM'S GOLAZO BREAKS MAIDEN BY SIX LENGTHS

Pacesetter GOLAZO (01 c, o/o Atuf, by Danzig) lead the way in a maiden race at Golden Gate Fields. Going one mile on the dirt, the 3-year-old colt toyed with his rivals and drew away in the stretch to a six length victory. He is SAHM's 24th career winner.

GOLAZO was bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC. Offered at the 2002 Keeneland September yearling sale, he is both owned and trained by Adrian Sanchez.

SHADWELL'S KEENELAND JANUARY OFFERINGS ONLINE

Shadwell Sales, who for the past few years has been offering a number of top horses at Keeneland's major sales, has limited its January offering to two stallion prospects. Both are exceptionally bred and both will be 5-year-olds at sale time. More information is available by clicking here.

The first of Shadwell's two Keeneland January horses is ALBAAZ, a bay son of Champion and Shadwell sire SWAIN out of Champion racemare Epitome. ALBAAZ's dam won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies-G1 and has produced UAE Champion Faltaat, multiple graded stakes winner Essence of Dubai, and stakes-winning record setter Danjur.

Shadwell's second stallion prospect on offer is HUSHOOD, a bay son of sire of sires Mr. Prospector. He is out of the Seattle Slew mare Princess Mitterand, a stakes winner who is multiple G1-placed. HUSHOOD is a half-sibling to graded stakes horse French Envoy and his dam is a half-sister to sire French Deputy. HUSHOOD is being offered as a stallion or racing prospect.

ALJABR'S STORM MATE IMPRESSIVE IN HOLLYWOOD MSW

In his career debut, STORM MATE (02 c, o/o Kostroma (IRE), by Caerleon) put in a top-notch performance in a Hollywood Park maiden special weight to become the sixth winner for his freshman sire. Going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf, the juvenile colt settled in at the rear of the field and rallied leaving the turn and into the stretch. He flew past all nine of his rivals for a 1 1/2 length victory. He got the distance in a swift 1:03 3/5.

Out of champion, millionaire, and multiple G1 winner Kostroma (IRE), STORM MATE was a $35,000 Keeneland September yearling and a $50,000 Keeneland April 2-year-old. Bred in Kentucky by Calumet Farm, he races for Prestonwood Farm LLC and is conditioned by Julio C. Canani.

FOUR WINS IN 2004 FOR SAHM'S FALCON IN FLIGHT

For the fourth time this year, FALCON IN FLIGHT (01 c, o/o Booklore, by Snow Chief) crossed the wire in front. The latest win was in a one mile dirt race at Hoosier Park run over a muddy track. He stalked the pace while four wide, rallied in the stretch, and won by 1 3/4 lengths as the second choice in a field of 10.

Bred in Pennsylvania by Gary Farrar and Karen Farrar, FALCON IN FLIGHT is raced by Louis D. O'Brien and is trained by Ralph Martinez. The 3-year-old was a $27,000 yearling at the 2002 Keeneland September sale.

SAHM'S RED CONTACT BREAKS MAIDEN IN A HANDICAP

SAHM's 3-year-old son RED CONTACT (01 c, o/o Basma, by Grey Dawn II) skipped right over a maiden win and instead captured his first victory in a handicap at Southwell in Great Britain. The sophomore bounded along over an all weather track and beat a field of 13 by an impressive 3 1/2 lengths. The handicap race was contested over a mile.

Shadwell Farm LLC bred RED CONTACT in Kentucky and he races in the colors of Meddler Bloodstock. Julian Poulton is his trainer. He sold for $17,000 at the 2002 Keeneland September yearling sale.

DAUGHTER OF SWAIN SELLS FOR $2 MILLION

DIMITROVA (00 f, o/o The Caretaker (IRE), by Caerleon), a G1 winner from SWAIN's first crop, brought a final bid of $2 million at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale. The filly, who earned more than $1 million on the track, was consigned by Indian Creek (Dave C. Parrish Jr.), agent, and was purchased by Abbott Bloodstock. She was sold as a racing or broodmare prospect.

Winner of the Flower Bowl Invitational S.-G1, DIMITROVA also captured the American Oaks and Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial S. The daughter of SWAIN also placed in both the Garden City Breeders' Cup H.-G1 and the Irish 1000 Guineas-G1.

PERSISTENT IS ALJABR'S FIFTH 1ST-CROP 2YO WINNER

When PERSISTENT (02 c, o/o Pic Me for Fun, by Piccolino) crossed the finish line two lengths in front of the field in a Hollywood Park maiden, he became the fifth 1st-crop 2-year-old winner for ALJABR. The juvenile was more comfortable in the back of the pack during the early stages of the 6 1/2 furlong dirt race before making a six-wide move on the turn. He never got closer to the rail than four wide in the stretch, but pulled clear in a facile performance.

PERSISTENT was bred in Kentucky by Rosemont Farm LLC. The Bob Baffert trainee races in the well-known colors of Robert B. and Beverly J. Lewis. He is a $120,000 Keeneland September yearling sales graduate.

SHADWELL ANNOUNCES STALLION FEES FOR 2005

Lexington-based Shadwell Farm has announced stud fees for 2005, led by champion SWAIN (IRE). The sire of 10 stakes horses in just three crops to race will remain at $25,000 live foal. The four-time G1 winner's progeny includes G1 winner Dimitrova and graded or group winners Muqbil and Stanley Park.

ALJABR is next on the roster with a 2005 fee of $10,000 live foal. The son of Storm Cat was a G1 winner at 2, 3, and 4. His first foals are 2-year-olds this year and include winners such as Munaddam, Oh Dara, Where's Bailey, and Zohar.

Both champion and three-time G1 winner DAYJUR and record-setting graded stakes winner SAHM will continue to stand for $5,000 live foal. DAYJUR has sired 50 stakes horses, including two champions, and has progeny earnings topping $17 million. SAHM already has six stakes horses in just two crops to race, including three stakes winners.

ALJABR'S WHERE'S BAILEY EARNS THIRD VICTORY

WHERE'S BAILEY (02 f, o/o Vertigineux, by Kris S.) won for the third time since early September with another allowance win at Louisiana Downs. The 2-year-old filly was the betting favorite in the longest race of her young career, a mile on the turf. She was near the back of the pack until the far turn when she advanced steadily and shook clear for a neck victory.

Now a two-time allowance winner, WHERE'S BAILEY was bred in Kentucky by Maverick Production Limited. She races for Thoroughbred Acadiana LLC and is trained by J. Keith Desormeaux.

SHADWELL'S MUSTANFAR ENTERED IN BREEDERS' CUP TURF-G1

Shadwell Stable's MUSTANFAR, a homebred trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, is one of eight strong contenders for the Breeders' Cup Turf-G1. The $2 million race is part of the outstanding World Thoroughbred Championships card to be run at Lone Star Park this Saturday, October 30.

The winner of four races, including Keeneland's Sycamore Breeders' Cup-G3 in his last start on Oct. 9, MUSTANFAR has earned $363,696. The 3-year-old Unbridled colt brings top form into the race. In his three starts prior to his Sycamore score, MUSTANFAR won the Lexington-G3 and was runner-up in the Hall of Fame-G2 and Saranac-G3. In addition, his victory in the Sycamore was at the 1 1/2 mile distance of the Turf.

MUSTANFAR will break from post eight under Jose Santos.

SAHM IAHM 2ND WINNER IN THREE DAYS FOR SAHM

SAHM IAHM (01 c, o/o Albarakat, by Riverman) became the second winner for his sire in the last three days with a maiden victory at Meadowlands. At a mile on the dirt, the 3-year-old chased the frontrunners, then powered clear for a resounding 7 3/4 length victory.

The $13,000 Keeneland September yearling graduate was bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC. SAHM IAHM races for Sandra Z. Dubose and is trained by Jamie Woodington.

SAHM'S GROUP PLACED MUSTAMEET WINS AT LEOPARDSTOWN

Mustameet (01 c, o/o Hamasah, by Irish River (FR)) won a nice race at Leopardstown in Ireland. The 3-year-old colt, who was placed in the Juddmonte Beresford S.-G2 at two, had not raced since exactly one year prior after cracking a hind cannon bone. He won the one mile event by two lengths. From the same family as 2001 Breeders' Cup Mile-G1 winner Val Royal (FR), MUSTAMEET was bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC. He campaigns for Hamdan al Maktoum and is conditioned by Kevin Prendergast.

ADAALA IS SAHM'S SIXTH STAKES HORSE

Adaala (02 f, o/o Alshoowg, by Riverman), a debut maiden winner in September, garnered her first stakes placing in the Gerrardstown House Stud Silken Glider S. Going one mile at the Curragh in Ireland, she wasn't quite able to catch the winner this time, but beat the other 11 contenders handily. Kevin Prendergast trains the daughter of SAHM. SHADWELL'S NOVEMBER CONSIGNMENT AVAILABLE ON-LINE

For the third year in a row, Shadwell's Sales Division is presenting a select consignment for Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale. The offering features eighteen mares, including a number of stakes winners as well as broodmares from top stakes-producing families. One of the highlights is a full sister to graded winner Kayrawan. Each of the mares is in foal to either Shadwell stallions ALJABR, DAYJUR, SWAIN, or SAHM, or to another sire such as the very popular Elusive Quality.

In addition to the in-foal mares, the Shadwell consignment also features a number of stallion and racing prospects. The catalogue pages for the individual horses are accessible directly through the Shadwell website. In addition, daily progeny and pedigree updates through equineline are also available from the same page.

The Shadwell horses will sell on three separate days throughout the 12-day sale, which will begin on Monday, November 8, and continue through Friday, November 19.

SHADWELL DAY AT KEENELAND

Opening Saturday at Keeneland featured the richest race of the fall meet, the $600,000 Shadwell Turf Mile S.-G1. The eight furlong turf stakes was won emphatically by Nothing to Lose, a multiple graded stakes winner who powered home by 4 1/2 lengths. Last year's winner, Perfect Soul, was off the board while last year's runner-up, Honor in War, again took the second spot. Nine horses competed. The winner is a homebred for Kenneth L. and Sarah K. Ramsey and will go to the Breeders' Cup Mile-G1 as one of the favorites.

Earlier on the card, Shadwell's own MUSTANFAR captured the Sycamore Breeders' Cup S.-G3. The 3-year-old scored an impressive victory, winning the 1 1/2 mile turf event by three widening lengths over his elders. He flew by the field in the stretch to win in a hand ride. The Unbridled colt out of the Lyphard mare Manwah (a half-sister to dual classic winner Nashwan and five other stakes winners) races as a homebred for Shadwell Farm. It was MUSTANFAR's first time at the distance. He switched to the grass from the main track earlier this summer and previously captured Belmont's Lexington Stakes-G3.

SAHM'S JUST ONE BID TAKES ALLOWANCE AT HOOSIER

Previous maiden winner JUST ONE BID (01 f, o/o Kiwi House, by Housebuster) began moving up through the allowance ranks with a nice score at Hoosier Park. The sophomore filly flashed early speed in the six furlong allowance and led by daylight at every call. An opponent challenged in the stretch, but JUST ONE BID maintained her advantage and won by a length.

SHADWELL TURF MILE-G1 AT KEENELAND SATURDAY, OCT. 9

The richest race of the Keeneland fall meet, the $600,000 Shadwell Turf Mile-G1, will be run on Saturday, October 9. Nothing to Lose, a multiple graded stakes winner, will be the likely favorite with 2003 winner Perfect Soul (IRE) attempting to defend his championship in the eight furlong G1 stakes. Additionally, another six or seven top turf horses also are expected to contest the race, including the 2003 runner-up, Honor in War.

Open to 3-year-olds and up, the $600,000 Shadwell Turf Mile-G1 has been a G1 event since 2002 and is one of the most highly-anticipated races of the prestigious Keeneland fall meet.

50 INDIVIDUAL WINNERS FOR SWAIN!

SOURCE OF PASSION (01 c, o/o Sabeline (IRE), by Caerleon) had a passion for the turf course at Kentucky Downs, as he "commenced a sweeping rally three furlongs out" in a one mile turf maiden after being unhurried early. The 3-year-old beat his elders to came home a convincing 2 1/2 length victor. He is the 50th individual winner for his sire, SWAIN. Bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm LLC, the full brother to a multiple winner in Japan races as a homebred.

GODOLPHIN'S MUNADDAM IS ALJABR'S FOURTH WINNER

Freshman sire ALJABR notched his fourth individual winner when MUNADDAM (02 c, o/o Etizaaz, by Diesis (GB)) won a 5 1/2 furlong maiden at Bath in Great Britain. The Racing Post chart said it best, "This juvenile maiden had a very one-sided look about it with the well entered-up MUNADDAM scoring with the minimum of fuss. He had dwelt on his previous two starts but was much better away on this occasion and was never in any danger once asked to go about his business." The 2-year-old was second to another ALJABR winner, Zohar, earlier this month. MUNADDAM won this maiden by five widening lengths over 15 rivals.

Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, MUNADDAM campaigns in the colors of Godolphin. His young dam was a stakes winner in England and G1-placed in France. ALJABR's fourth winner hails from the immediate family of champion and Shadwell sire SWAIN.

ALJABR'S WHERE'S BAILEY WINS IN ALLOWANCE RANKS

Just 15 days after breaking her maiden, WHERE'S BAILEY (02 f, o/o Vertigineux, by Kris S.) captured an allowance at Louisiana Downs. In a tenacious effort, the 2-year-old filly trailed the field in the early stages of the 7 1/2 furlong turf race. She came into the stretch three wide before angling over to the rail. In a determined and willing performance, WHERE'S BAILEY wore down all of her rivals to score by a neck.

SAHM'S COBI KY SCORES THIRD WIN IN THREE MONTHS

COBI KY (01 f, o/o Miss Keyonna, by Septieme Ciel) sprinted clear at the onset of this 1 1/16 mile event at Turfway Park. She kept to the task, never allowing a challenger close, and rolled home five lengths clear. The 3-year-old filly had gone to the post as the favorite against her elders and notched her third win in as many months. All three of her wins have been by large margins.

FIRST-TIME 2YO STARTER WINS IN IRELAND

ADAALA (02 f, o/o Alshoowg, by Riverman) became the third of SAHM's second-crop 2-year-olds to win, in addition to his 21st son or daughter overall to cross the finish line first. This filly was making the first start of her career at Roscommon in Ireland and easily disposed of 14 rivals by 1 1/2 lengths. The seven furlongs were run over a soft course.

COQUINERIE IS SAHM'S FIFTH STAKES HORSE

After three wins at Calder, including two allowance victories, Coquinerie (01 f, o/o Istinad, by Kris S.) put in a strong runner-up performance in the Judy's Red Shoes S. at the same track. Going 1 1/16 miles on the yielding turf, COQUINERIE settled far back before unleashing a furious drive that carried her from last. She flew down the stretch, splitting rivals impressively, and missed winning the $75,000 stakes by just a half-length.

The placing was COQUINERIE's first in a stakes and made her SAHM's fifth stakes horse to date in his first crop of runners. Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm, LLC, the 2002 Keeneland September yearling sales graduate races for Caroni Stable.

THIRD WINNER FOR FRESHMAN SIRE ALJABR

WHERE'S BAILEY (02 f, o/o Vertigineux, by Kris S.) became ALJABR's second winner in the last five days (and third winner overall) with a nice score in a maiden special weight at Retama Park. Going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf, the 2-year-old filly found herself carried six wide on the first turn. She settled comfortably near the back of the pack, then closed steadily to score a three-quarter length victory.

A Keeneland September sales graduate, WHERE'S BAILEY was bred in Kentucky by Maverick Production, Limited. She races for Thoroughbred Acadiana LLC and is trained by J. Keith Desormeaux. Her dam is a half-sister to three stakes winners.

ZOHAR IS ALJABR'S SECOND WINNER

ZOHAR (02 c, o/o Dafnah, by Housebuster) became his freshman sire's second career winner with a top-notch win in a stiff maiden test at Haydock in England. The 2-year-old colt was making his career debut and faced a field of 14 going six furlongs. He prevailed by 1 1/4 lengths. The Racing Post said, "This was an encouraging debut by ZOHAR, who came through nicely to lead over one furlong out for a tidy success. He looks well bought and has the scope to improve further..." The second-place finisher in the race, Munaddam, is also by ALJABR.

Bred in the U.S. by Gracefield Equine, Chip Montgomery, and Ray E. Montgomery Living Trust, ZOHAR races for E. H. Jones (Paints) Ltd. The B. J. Meehan trainee is pointing to the Middle Park S.-G1 next time out.

SAHM AMONG TOP FIVE 2ND-CROP SIRES BY SWs

An August edition of TBH MarketWatch featured second-crop sires of 2004 and young Shadwell sire SAHM figured prominently on two important lists. With an impressive three stakes winners (and four stakes horses) from just 30 starters, he is tied for fifth among the Leading North American Sires by Number of Stakes Winners. In addition, he also is tied for third among the Leading North American Sires by Number of Turf Winners.

In addition to his four stakes horses, SAHM has had 20 winners, including two winners (from two starters) in his second crop of 2-year-olds.

GAELIC SUNRISE IS SAHM'S 20TH WINNER

GAELIC SUNRISE (01 c, o/o Awards Awaiting, by Academy Award) withstood a fierce battle to capture a maiden special weight against older foes at Delaware Park. The sophomore colt was unhurried in the early stages of the 1 1/16 mile turf maiden before making a three-wide middle move. After tackling the frontrunner, the two dueled neck and neck down the stretch. The son of SAHM prevailed by a neck.

The 20th winner for his sire, GAELIC SUNRISE is a Kentucky-bred. Trained by Graham Motion, he races as a homebred for Andrew J. M. Flail.

50 STAKES HORSES FOR DAYJUR!

VICTORY DAY (01 c, o/o Maude Rose, by Shadeed), a multiple winner as a 2-year-old last year, captured his first stakes event in a monster effort in the GCFA Texas Bred S. at the Gillespie County Fairground meet in Texas. Going seven furlongs on the dirt against his elders, the sophomore galloped home 15 1/2 lengths the best. VICTORY DAY is the 50th stakes horse for his sire. Bred in Texas by Munn O'Neal and Richards A. Mays DVM, VICTORY DAY races for his co-breeder, Munn O'Neal.

SAHM's DOUBLE DIDGIT BABY BEATS OLDER MARES

DOUBLE DIDGIT BABY (01 f, o/o Paris Tango, by Cure the Blues) shortened up to five furlongs to beat older fillies and mares at Mountaineer Park. Over a muddy track, the sophomore filly challenged from the middle of the pack. She surged to contention at the top of the stretch and was carried wide by the frontrunner but got up by a neck at the wire. She finished the five-eighths over a field of 10 in 1:00 flat and was the longest shot on the board at 35-1.

Bred in Maryland by Rachel Rosa, DOUBLE DIDGIT BABY races for Carrol S. Langley. It was her second win in the last two months at Mountaineer.

SAHM's SWEET DREAM RHODY WINS TWICE IN 10 DAYS

SWEET DREAM RHODY (01 c, o/o Sweet Roberta, by Roberto) won just 10 days ago and came back at Penn National for another victory. In what is becoming his patented style, the 3-year-old took his time near the rear of the field in the early stages of the one mile race. He angled out and rallied on the turn, accelerating in the stretch for a 1 1/4 length win. It was his third win since March.

Campaigning for Vincent M. McCue, SWEET DREAM RHODY was bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC. He was SAHM's second winner of the past two days.

STAKES WINNER IS SAHM'S 6TH INDIVIDUAL WINNER OF JULY

MR. FIXED INCOME (01 c, o/o Tinted Ivory, by Sir Ivor), a previous stakes winner for SAHM, won again at Finger Lakes to become his sire's sixth individual winner of the month. At the end of June, he took a six-furlong race at the same track, but now stepped up in distance to one mile and 70 yards. The sophomore took the four path on the last turn and advanced steadily through the stretch. He endured a bumping incident while splitting rivals in late stretch but prevailed for a half-length win.

GREAT SHAM (01 c, o/o Tucked Inside, by Great Above), a sophomore from SAHM's first crop, broke his maiden impressively against older horses at Canterbury Park. Going six furlongs on the dirt, he rated near the back of the 12-horse field before rallying four wide. He drove to the front at the head of the stretch and crossed the wire 4 3/4 lengths the best.

SWAIN RUNNERS FINISH ONE-THREE IN LISTED STAKES

MUQBIL (00 c, o/o Istiqlal, by Diesis (GB)) and Musanid (00 c, o/o Siyadah, by Mr. Prospector) teamed to finish first and third in the Cantorodds.com Steventon S. at Newbury in Great Britain. Going 10 furlongs and six yards, the two runners from SWAIN's first crop both closed furiously, with MUQBIL catching the frontrunner and MUSANID finishing just behind. The former, already a group winner, added the black type race to his growing repertoire of six wins or placings in stakes (four graded) and the latter was placing in his first stakes event. SWAIN now has five stakes winners and eight stakes horses, five of which are group/graded.

Both MUQBIL and MUSANID were bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC and campaign in the colors of Skeikh Hamdan al Maktoum. MUQBIL is out of a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Bahri and MUSANID is out of a stakes-winning mare who is a half-sister to 2002 group winner Esloob.

SWEET DREAM RHODY WINS AGAIN

SWEET DREAM RHODY (01 c, o/o Sweet Roberta, by Roberto) captured a one mile and 70 yard dirt race at Penn National. The sophomore was unhurried in the early stages but began making a move on the far turn. He flew through the stretch to overtake the leaders and came home a 1 1/4 length victor.

Bred in Kentucky by Shadwell Farm LLC, SWEET DREAM RHODY races in the colors of Vincent M. McCue. It was his second career victory at the Pennsylvania track.

STAR OF SAHM (01 f, o/o Smile With a Smile, by Smile) won just four weeks ago and came back for a decisive victory in an allowance at Philadelphia Park. She dueled for the lead throughout the 1 1/16 mile dirt race, put away her challenger entering the stretch, and drew clear for an 8 1/4 length triumph. ANOTHER SECOND-CROP WINNER FOR SAHM

HALO HIT (02 f, o/o Solid Hit, by Time for a Change) became the second of two second-crop winners for her sire (and the 18th individual winner). The 2-year-old filly scored in a maiden special weight at Lone Star Park going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf. She made a menacing run from last in the 12-horse field to rally six wide and win by a neck. Bred in Kentucky, HALO HIT is bred, owned, and trained by C. R. Trout.

CHENIA CAPTURES SUFFOLK DOWNS OAKS

CHENIA (01 f, o/o Abla (GB), by Robellino), a stakes winner earlier this year, captured the Suffolk Downs Oaks for her second blacktype victory. She settled inside near the back of the pack and remained unhurried for the first half of the one mile and 70 yard stakes. She moved three wide on the turn and steadily closed down the stretch. She was up in time to score a head victory in the Oaks on the turf course at Suffolk Downs.

Winner of the Stonehedge Farm Sophomore Fillies S. at Tampa Bay Downs three months ago, CHENIA was sold in utero at the 2000 Keeneland November sale by Shadwell Sales for $19,000. She was bred in Kentucky by the Abla Syndicate and campaigns for Marshall and Suzanne Novak and Richard Schultz.

FIRST WINNER FOR FRESHMAN SIRE ALJABR!

In her first career start, OH DARA (02 f, o/o Sabaah Elfull (GB), by Kris (GB)) won by 3 1/2 lengths to become the first winner for her young Storm Cat sire, ALJABR. The 2-year-old filly set all the pace in the five furlong maiden at Catterick in Great Britain and drew clear at the end for an emphatic win.

In regards to ALJABR's first winner, The Racing Post said, "OH DARA, who was well backed to make a winning debut, confirmed that market confidence with a decisive win. She certainly knew her job as she broke well, made all, was clear after a couple of furlongs and scored unchallenged despite flashing her tail in the final furlong. COBI KY (01 f, o/o Miss Keyonna, by Septieme Ciel) notched an impressive victory at Mountaineer Park. The sophomore filly went to post as the favorite in the one mile maiden special weight and did not disappoint. She led every step of the way while under wraps and blew away the field to cross the wire 7 3/4 lengths in front.

For the third time since early April, FALCON IN FLIGHT (01 c, o/o Booklore, by Snow Chief) won by daylight at Fairmount Park. The sophomore captured this one mile and 70 yard allowance by three lengths, making his combined margin of victory in the three starts a stunning 17 1/2 lengths. In his latest win, FALCON IN FLIGHT pressed the pace, took over four wide nearing the last quarter mile, and steadily opened up.

COQUINERIE (01 f, o/o Istinad, by Kris S.), a versatile winner on both dirt and turf last year as a 2-year-old, captured the second allowance test of her career. Going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Calder, the sophomore filly was in no hurry early in the race. She mounted a rally from the back of the pack while three wide going into the far turn and battled with another closer to score a head victory at the wire.

SAMS SAHM 1ST 2YO WINNER OF 2004 FOR SIRE

With 2-year-old races just getting into full swing around the country, SAHM already has his first winner from his second crop of juveniles. SAMS SAHM (02 c, o/o Flakes of Gold (GB), by Dancing Spree) captured a 4 1/2 furlong maiden special weight at Lone Star Park. The colt was always near the front and took command leaving the turn. He held off a late closer for a head victory.

SAMS SAHM was bred in Kentucky by Craig R. Britton and Jackie Fite. He races for Sam L. Thomason and Mike Crow. In addition to being SAHM's first second-crop winner, SAMS SAHM is his sire's 13th lifetime winner.

For the second time in less than a month, FALCON IN FLIGHT (01 c, o/o Booklore, by Snow Chief) won by a huge daylight margin at Fairmount Park. In a one mile allowance race on a sloppy track, the 3-year-old broke first and set all the pace. He began drawing clear leaving the second turn and won by a whopping 8 3/4 lengths. He broke his maiden on April 8 by 5 3/4 lengths.

The 3-year-old colt broke to the inside and battled for the lead in the 5 1/2 furlong dirt event. He took command in midstretch and powered home by 5 3/4 lengths. Young Shadwell sire SAHM recorded his second stakes winner and third stakes horse when CHENIA (01 f, o/o Abla (GB), by Robellino) captured the Stonehedge Farm Sophomore Fillies S. at Tampa Bay Downs. The 3-year-old filly had recently scored an impressive maiden win at the same track. CHENIA took her time at the back of the pack in the seven-furlong stakes, made a four-wide middle move, and unleashed a furious drive to run down the leader. She tallied her first blacktype win by a neck over the full field of 13.

He broke swiftest of all in the five-furlong race and held all rivals at bay, including a strong closer. He won by a half-length and completed the five-eighths in 1:00 2/5.

SHELL GAME IS SWAIN'S 6TH STAKES HORSE (FIVE GRADED)

SHELL GAME (01 c, o/o Chancey Squaw, by Chief's Crown), a multiple winner at two last year, became SWAIN's newest stakes horse with a game second in the Mainichi Hai-G3 at Hanshin in Japan. The G3 event was contested over 2000 meters (1 1/4 miles) on the turf. SHELL GAME set a track record for the distance at Nakayama last year.

Bred in Kentucky by Runnymede Farm Inc. and Peter J. Callahan, SHELL GAME campaigns for Takashi Watanabe. His G1-winning half-brother, Agnes Digital, is a seasoned campaigner in Japan and has earned over $5 million. SHELL GAME is now SWAIN's sixth stakes horse overall and fifth graded stakes horse.

EVENING PLEASURES (01 c, o/o Afternoon Surprise, by Proud Truth) got up just in time to take a maiden special weight at Laurel Park and become the second winner in two days for his sire. The 3-year-old colt settled nicely and saved ground in the 1 1/16 mile contest, then swung three-wide turning for home. He caught the leader in the last strides to prevail by a nose. The Illinois-bred races as a homebred for Kaygar Stables.

SAHM now has 10 winners in his initial crop.

The Mr. Prospector sire SAHM, whose first 3-year-olds are racing now, recorded his eighth career winner with CHENIA (01 f, o/o Abla (GB), by Robellino) in Florida. The sophomore filly captured a maiden event impressively at Tampa Bay Downs. After loitering at the back of the pack, CHENIA made a move while an amazing seven wide and blew past the leaders for a 2 3/4-length triumph. She got the five furlongs in 1:00.

SAHM FILLY CELEBRATES NEW YEAR WITH MSW VICTORY

MISS D FLAWLESS (01 f, o/o Trickntreat, by Clever Trick) brought in the new year with an impressive win in maiden special weight company at Tampa Bay Downs. The freshly-minted 3-year-old filly took her time near the back of the pack for much of the one-mile maiden on the turf, then made her move on the second turn while five-wide. She mowed down the leaders and pulled away to score by two lengths as the race favorite.

Her sire's sixth winner, MISS D FLAWLESS was placed at two before this maiden win in her first days as a sophomore. She was bred in New York by Barry R. Ostrager and races for Steven Peskoff.
